Tailored to perfection

(ZARA coat / thrifted blouse / Joe Fresh Style pants / The Sak purse / F21 necklace / vintage belt / Jeffrey Campbell shoes)

I used to be a jeans girl. From baggy jeans in grade school, bell-bottoms in high school, skinny jeans in my 4 years of university, up until now. When I started blogging and working full time, I realized that there's another "pants" world out there. And thanks to the menswear-inspired trend, I started wearing non-denim bottoms. Not only can I wear them to work, I can also wear them for leisure over the weekend. This Joe Fresh Style pair is the perfect example of versatile pants. They also make my ankles look somewhat slimmer. Ha! I'm very particular about my ankles (and eyebrows, lol). Are you obsessed with any of your body parts? Do share! :)

ps. I just added MORE items in my blog shop. Check them out! ;)

xx toodles.

Which body part? Has to be the chest area. I know there are girls who wanted "that" part to be big but if I could have my way I wish it's relatively smaller. :3

And I just discovered my love for trousers/slacks when I started working too. :)

You look amazing! I love this outfit...great styling.
What part of my body do I hate? My calves. I have chicken legs :( I wish they were proportional to the rest of my legs.

I was gonna comment on the pants before I even read your little blurb. Yes, pants are my fav things in the world! I'm so glad you wrote about them. It's crazy, but I always get super excited when I find pants that fit well / have perfect tailoring / are in the best fabric or colour. Pants are a beautiful thing and I don't think girls value them enough. For crying out loud, half the population walk around with no pants on! Evil leggings / tights trend!

Like you, I'm also obsessed with my brows! I can be butt naked, but I can't do without a perfectly filled-in brow. It's annoying and I spend a lot of time on them every morning. I also am manically obsessed with having the perfectly shaped nails. I get angry when my nail polish chips or when a nail isn't filed in the right square shape.

HAHA I just sounded like the most neurotic person in the world. And I probably win at the LONGEST COMMENT ever!

Oooh, Kristy, I like, I LIKE! You look very chic in that trench and your shoes are gorgeous.

Body parts I'm obsessed with: my thighs. Unfortunately for me, large amounts of cellulite runs in my family. I want to get rid of it!

I love those trousers and shoes together. And your ankles look great (if I can say that without sounding weird).

Shop T.O. Live said...

Oh, your ankles do look very slim in the pictures! (However, I've NEVER noticed them looking chubby either - what did you call them ...chankles?! Haha.)

I've always admired your ability to put separates together. I think menswear is so hard to pull off, but me loves this outfit!

I like your shoes a lot , your bag is cute too

I want your jacket and shoes. It definitely looks great with those pants. I love pants but they don't fit me that well.

Know exactly what you mean, not so long ago I bought my first pair of pleated pants and just couldn't be happier! Move over skinnies and flares, the new era has begun... ;o)

I'm in love with this outfit of yours, totally classy and chic!

I LOVE JOE FRESH. I need a pair of those man pants. Man pants are such comfortable alternatives to normal nasty office pants. I hate boot cut and flare. Why make them? Flares don't look good on anyone. Especially not the people who generally overwear them.

This is the most perfectly tailored outfit. You look like a perfect professional. You just need a leather briefcase satchel and a cup of coffee in your hand!

Like I said, I'm a big fan of Joe Fresh, too bad they don't do ecommerce. Or good for me they don't

Even though I'm on the biggest shopping ban of my life!

Xx,
Mae Lu, thereafterish.

PS. We may be in Toronto in about three weeks. Can we please have crepes and tea/coffee then?

The heel on those wedges are magnificent! I was actually stalking the same pair on Shopbop but it never came in my size :( lucky you!! And a trench is such a staple piece, I misplaced mine but totally regret it now.

I really adore all of the androgynous styles this season. you look stunning!

i hate to say it but.... my breasts. not because i want to show them but because they are so hard to cover for work if i wear a v-neck or scooped neck top. it's such a pain

I would die for your heels!

Haha, this reminds me of how you commented (more than once, I think) about my eyebrows!:p

You are so perfectly chic here, Kristy! Sophisticated and with a hint of glam. J'adore!

Angie said...

this is so chic urban streetstyle! i love how your trench fits you and the fitted dress pants. my trench makes me look superrrr short D: sacrifice fashion for warmth? oh noess xD

carolyn said...

what do you use for your eyebrows? i have troublesome asian eyebrows- not as full as i want, and i can't find a good eyebrow filler/color/texture. tears! you really do have very nice eyebrows :)

Kristy said...

@Carolyn: Thanks for the compliment :p I like to spend time on grooming and shaping my eyebrows every morning. I use a pencil brow (from Rimmel #01 or #02) and a brow kit from WetnWild in Ash Brown. I have sparse brows :( Thanks again!

This is definitely one of my favourite looks from you!! I love how you put the tights under the pants and that trench is perfection! great style as always!!

(and i'm super conscious about my legs because they are so muscular they are 2 sizes bigger than the rest of me :( haha)
