No Reason Why I Shouldn't Say Goodbye

(ZARA trench coat / Old Navy sweater (get it here) / H&M skirt, necklace, shoes / Vintage clutch)

Pairing a casual sweater with a classic pencil skirt might not sound like a brand-new idea, but it was foreign to me until I put on this outfit and said to myself "Hey, this actually works!" But I have a love-hate relationship with this skirt. I don't understand how women can survive wearing pencil skirts to work. My skirt isn't even that tight but it's like wearing a giant squeezer. 8+ hours I spent wearing this skirt cost me at least 10 trips to the washroom. I don't even visit the washroom that often when I'm having a stomach flu. Anyway...

xx toodles.

I love wearing skirts, and the pencil cut is my favorite. Although the high-waisted ones flatter my body shape than those that sit at or near my hip (I have a long torso), they are less comfortable, especially when I have plans to go out for a big meal. You might want to try one that sits at the hip or lower hip...if you have a short torso.

All of my pencil skirts are pretty loose, so I don't have that problem, but I can see where that might be an issue! At least it looks great :)

Urgh there's a reason why I never wear pencil skirts and it's cause I can't breath, BUT they are really flattering.

pencil skirts are always a good idea in my book.... they could make a potato sack look glamorous.

Love that the clutch and jacket match so well! I don't even own a pencil skirt, LOL. I have a cotton one from American Apparel, but I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable wearing that to work. I've never even worn a skirt or dress to work before, now that I think about it!

LOVE your Zara trench coat! And I agree with you on pencil skirts, they're so awkward to walk in. It's like your legs are tied together and you have to waddle like a penguin. very uncomfortable. But they're so slimming!

this trench coat is one of the most versatile, classy, must have items for me, one that never goes out of fashion...
and love the slight difference of shades between the beige coat and grey top, they are so similar but yet different, a nice color combination this is
